Without a doubt David Arkenstone is one of the most important musicians of our age. His one of it's kind music surely inspire a lot of people out there who working on areas need creativity - including me.

First Steps
|
When the time he contacted me for creating an image for his El Dorado video - I was actually working on some personal images created with the inspiration of his music. First thing I've done is sending those previews to him and he enjoyed them and sent me his marvelous musical piece El Dorado to me also helped me out to find more information about that legendary city of gold. As an Atlantis inquisitive I was mesmerized by the legends of El Dorado. I scratched the things come to my mind and as you can see it was very crappy drawing - but worked fine to clear things up in my mind. After I started to work on 3D environment for El Dorado, David Arkenstone asked some elements for other videos. A Palace for Song Of Sheherazade, a temple, statues and a female character for Temple Of Isis.
|
And underwater ruins for Oceanus. Besides working on digital environment for El Dorado I started modeling the 3D objects I'd need for the scenes.
3D Modeling
After we cleaned up everything necessary for the videos I'll work on - I started to modeling the necessary elements. It was challenging part to me but I also enjoyed it a lot. I learned a ton of new things also used my imagination to make conceptual modeling which an area I was dying to work on. As Johnny Wilson said - most pleasuring part of the entire project visually there was nothing but ideas and it was great to see some of those ideas shaped in 3D.
I used Cinema 4D for my modeling works. Hence I was fairly new about 3D modeling - Cinema 4D was a great option to achieve the results I wanted swiftly. My rig was an Athlon 64 3000+ with 2 gigs of ram and Nvidia 6600 video served as my design machine and my old Pentium4 2.40 with 1 gigs of ram and Nvidia 5200 served as a render slave. Greatly using of Booleans and Hypernurbs making my objects pretty heavy. I was importing my models to Vue 5 Infinite for texturing them and placing them to a well designed, proper environment and those high poly objects slowing down my systems much. After finished texturing on Vue - I was using Weld option of Vue to reduce object count. But luckily never faced up with serious crashings - I think becuase of the positive feelings I have to this project :) I usually get a lot of Not Enough Memory messages. I also started working on a magical palace for Song Of Sheherazade - but the first results wasn't good enough.
During all the project David Arkenstone was so supportive and helpful even when I complained about the software and hardware I was using. He understood I wanted to do my best and his heartening words and unconditional support kept my head up high and kept me do my best - and I'll never forget that... - continued on next page...
